“I’ve never hired an interior demolition company before but I’m starting to, so I figured I would ask a few questions to make sure I’m going with the best one when my home needs a quick fix. I looked through a couple of their brochures online and was amazed at all the services they offered. They seemed very knowledgeable and professional. But I also found that their prices were a bit higher than what I was expecting, but again, I had a lot of confidence in them. So I got to work and did the work, and I’ll be honest with you: It was a nightmare.
I’d like to go over some of the services they provided to me for our home’s interior demolition process. The first thing they did was tear down the exterior walls and door of the house. Then they began tearing down the interior walls, ceiling, floors, cabinets, doors, windows, fire escapes, etc. This was quite a detailed job and I’m not sure if they used mobile demolition equipment, but they must have because they put in long hours. From what I’ve read on their website, they did most of the work themselves and that’s what really made a mess of my home!
From what I understand, they are trained and skilled at removing buildings where there is asbestos. I am very leery of using this as a reason to tear down a building, because it’s been proven again to be dangerous, especially if there are young children present. They also specialize in removing buildings that are considered too dangerous for humans to enter. There were many times I wanted to have a professional interior demolition service remove a building that had locked doors, but they wouldn’t do it.
They did a great job with our home extension project because they brought in trucks that would take the debris and dump it in an underground dump that is supposed to contain this type of material. The guys said they would call me when they’re done and I never heard from them. What a waste of money! I never had to hire a professional crew to remove debris from my house.
I did need a few interior demolition services to remove certain things, such as gutters, plumbing fixtures, ceiling panels, etc. But all I received was free bids from demolition services that didn’t really offer anything I needed. One of the things they did was to remove part of the roof so that they could replace it with another. How could they possibly do that? It just doesn’t make sense.
I finally found what I needed, experienced demolition services that have a real reputation for quality work in the Boston area. I’ve contracted them to remove everything from the roof of a commercial building to a private home. Their work was completed within budget and on time. I’ve been very happy with every single one of them.
Some other “removals” that they did for my home construction project included; demolition of an industrial kitchen, demolition of a garage, a break room, basement remodel, concrete removal, bathroom renovation, roofing shingles, demolition of concrete barrier wall and removal of a brick walkway. All of these projects were completed on time and within budget. The contractor was very courteous and very professional in all of his dealings with me. He even gave me a discount on the cost of the entire project because he was very impressed with the workmanship that went into the demo of my home.
The most amazing thing to me was the contractor asked if I would be okay with him taking out an old refrigerator that was left behind during the remodeling. What he did was very impressive. He removed the old refrigerator, removed the wiring and removed the refrigerator unit all while leaving the door open for ventilation. After finishing up with all of the demolition work he called me to tell me he had the refrigerator unit removed and he was able to get the old appliance removal done on time. This will keep me going strong on demolition work.
